Thread inserts, also called insert nuts, have external knife threads that provide superior holding power in hard and soft woods, particle board and all wood products. They are installed into a material and hold in place. The inside of thread insert nuts have threading made of metal to create a more durable hold. Used wherever field assembly or disassembly could lead to thread erosion or stripping.
